Winner of ‘The Replacement’ ARC

Sorry guys, I forgot to announce the winner of the contest!!

Using Random.org, the winner is: Cari

Congrats to her :)

I just finished reading my ARC of Beautiful Darkness, but since it’s signed and I love it, I will not be giving that one away. Stay tuned in the next two weeks to see what ARC I’ll be giving away next.

Those Times When Social Media Must be Avoided

Starting tonight I will have to avoid the Internet until after I finish Mockingjay!!

Suzanne Collins made a special announcement, requesting no spoilers of the book - but you know people will be on Twitter gushing and giving little bits of info. I can’t have that! This is THE book I’ve been waiting for all year.

“One of the most important things to me is that everyone in the world is going to be able to experience the final book of The Hunger Games all at the same time, and be able to discover what happens in the book without hearing about it elsewhere first. Word will certainly travel fast, but I urge you – before or immediately after August 24th – to please respect the other Hunger Games fans worldwide and avoid sharing any spoilers, so that the conclusion of Katniss’s story can unfold for each reader the way it was meant to unfold.”

So if I’m AWOL, it’s because I’m getting my copy at midnight. If I’m not too tired, I’ll stay up reading, but since I’ve never in my life (even when studying for college finals for an aerospace engineering class) been able to stay up all night - I will probably have to read it tomorrow instead.

See you on the flip side!

On Submission?

Just a quick note to let everyone know that I’m the “Group Leader” for a new group on YALitChat. It’s called On Submission and it’s for any member who has a YA or MG manuscript on submission to agents or editors! Come talk about the process, any editorial feedback you’ve received, ask questions, and have a group available with shoulders to cry on, nails to bite, and loud lungs to cheer you on.

It is a request only group, but since I’m the leader … well you get the picture :)

See you there!
